Hello
About me
I am a PhD Candidate at Vanderbilt University. I study state building, local government, and development I democracies. My research examines how state-society dynamics and natural hazards shape the state. I appreciate a mixed methods approach, and have conducted original surveys, in-depth interviews and focus groups with citizens, bureaucrats, politicians and social organizations in hazards affected and comparison regions in India, to investigate how state and society interact and influence each other.
My work has been supported by the American Political Science Association, the Centennial Center, the Centre for Global Democracy, the Center for the Study of Democratic Institutions (CSDI), LAPOP Lab, and the Russell Hamilton Graduate Leadership Institute
I am a research affiliate of the Center for Global Democracy, and the Center for the Study of Democratic Institutions at Vanderbilt.
